There's nothing better than seeing one of my players do something in March that felt impossible back in November. At this age, I keep practices heavy on fundamentals with lots of reps so every girl gets the contacts she needs to build real confidence. We spend extra time on serving because it's the one skill that's completely hers from the first touch.
I coach the next ball, not the last one, and I say the same reminders over and over until they stick. At this age everybody plays meaningful minutes because development matters more than results. My door is always open for questions from families, with just one rule: not in the ten minutes right after a match.
I still play adult league and beach volleyball myself, and I got into coaching after watching my own daughter have a tough experience at a club. I'm looking forward to helping this group grow together this season.
