I'll talk about serve receive longer than anything else. Nothing else in the game happens until somebody passes it. I'm Emma Brehm and I coach 15-Black at CVA. Ask me about the mental side and you'll get a while on that as well. I'm one of the most prepared coaches in this building. I write out every practice, and I trade ideas with the coaches around me every week. I build my practices alongside a head coach at this club who mentors me, so my athletes get two sets of eyes, not one.
Expect sessions that are high-volume, with a lot of contacts for every athlete and live from the first whistle, with real reps instead of lines. Bad error, bad moment, everyone watching. I give the fix, not the replay. They know they shanked it before I do.
I'd rather families hear this from me than guess: you earn your time in practice here, and anyone who asks why they aren't playing gets a straight answer and a list. I'll save you finding this out in February: an athlete who expects a starting spot handed to them.
If the team gets one complaint, it's how loud I get over a good dig. I spend the rest of the week as a teacher.
On communication: my door is open, with one rule: not in the ten minutes after a match.
